Scouting for Food brings in 11,386 items!!

During the Scouting for Food drive, the Middletown Food Bank typically receives food from the efforts of several Packs and Troops in our Middletown area.  There are at least three Packs (278, 476 and 1051) and five Troops (217, 273, 276, 278 and 476) that mount efforts to bring food to the Middletown Food Bank.  Some of our Troops even rang doorbells or knocked on doors, to remind families of the great need of some of the households in our area, which helped to bring more food this year.

From Mr. McCahey, the Committee Chair of Troop 476, here are the results of the efforts of the Scouts in our area:

"Scouting for Food delivered 11,386 items to the Middletown Food Bank today.
Considering that our normal haul is about 8,000 items, this is an impressive
day. Thank you to all of the volunteers who contributed to this important
service project for the community."

On behalf of the families in the Middletown Valley who really need our help, thank you to all of the Scout families in Pack 476 that helped distribute bags last weekend, picked up bags yesterday and sorted at the Food Bank.  Great job, folks!
