Blue & Gold Banquet - Feb 20th

posted Feb 9, 2011, 12:30 PM by Tim Rapp
There are several important things you should know about our Blue and Gold event, coming up on February 20...I'll share just THREE of them with you, in this email:

FIRST UP:  DOOR PRIZES!  OMG, for all you texters out there!  The list of prizes is amazing and all your Scout has to do, to have a chance at one of the door prizes, is BE THERE!  Here's a list of just SOME of those door prizes:

$15 Walmart gift card
$30 Walmart gift card
2GB portable digital media player, with ear buds
Lego Power Miners
3-pc game set (Digital Watch+Radio w/ ear buds+26-game handheld game)
Cartridge handheld video game w/ 7 cartridges
3-pc item, includes Flashlight, compass and carabiner
(3)-Coleman Survival Tool
(3)-Down and Derby DVD (Movie about pinewood derby starring Pat Morita)

(2)-Multifunction flashlight w/ compass
(2)-Pocket knife
(3)-Marshmallow shooter
(2)-Corn hat (excellent item for selling more pop corn next year)
(2)-Tickets to Nationals game, date TBD, in Spring

You CAN'T miss this Blue and Gold!

SECOND UP!  ENTERTAINMENT!  The Cub Scouts have worked hard this year, in pop corn sales.  To celebrate the birthday of Cub Scouting, we're bringing in some entertainment that they won't want to miss!  As a hint of what's coming, here is the title of the show:  THINGS THAT GO BOOM!  What Scout ISN'T interested in BOOM?!

THIRD UP!  Bring an open mind and whatever you can afford in cash or your checkbook or credit card number.  Each year, Scouting attempts to raise funding to help support its goals for our boys, the the Friends of Scouting drive.  Donations, which are tax deductible still, to the extent allowable (check with you accountant for more details), are solicited by me on behalf of Scouting in our area.  The funds that are donated help to pay for Scouting programs, like camp maintenance and enhancements.  A Scout is thrifty and you can be sure that anything you can contribute or pledge will be put the best use possible.  More details will be provided at the Blue and Gold.  NOTE:  Last year, our Pack raised the most money for a unit, in our district; that's more than Troops and Packs that were bigger than ours.  Your generosity makes a difference.

That's all for now!

See you on that Sunday!

Assistant Cubmaster and Pop Corn Kernel
